WHEAt and barley Legacy for Breeding Improvement

The WHEALBI project was presented at the IWC – Sept. 2015

The International Wheat Conference, meeting gathering the whole wheat community (public and private, 550 attendees from 66 countries ) was held in Sidney from the 20 to the 25th of September 2015.

This major conference was the opportunity to see all the advances in wheat genetics and breeding, but also to see some very impressive initiatives going in developing countries to increase the wheat production and yield stability, like in Africa where in some places yield was more than doubled in the last few years (Icarda).

During the poster session, WHEALBI project was presented and many attendees, including many private companies, showed their interest, and registered to follow the project through the newsletter.
