The Consortium implementing the preparatory action on EU plant and animal genetic resources on behalf of the European Commission will hold the final conference to present the findings and conclusions resulting from the study.
The objectives of the preparatory action are to provide inspiring examples of how to make the conservation of neglected breeds and varieties economically viable and encourage farmers and other stakeholders to engage in similar projects across the EU (more information is available at www.geneticresources.eu).
The conference will take place on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 September 2018 in Nantes (France). It will start at 1.00PM on the Thursday afternoon and will end at 1.00PM on the Friday morning.
The Friday session will take place in the context of the event “Fête de la vache nantaise” (more information at https://www.vachenantaise.fr/) which is a large well-known event in West France (about 40 000 visitors over the week-end) that promotes the conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources.
